How to Reset Convertible Top & Window Controller

If you’re having trouble with your windows automatically rolling down when you hold the switch for the roof, or if the roof isn’t moving at all when you hold the switch, resetting the controller may solve your problem.

Before you bother resetting the controller, first make sure that you don’t have the window lock switch in the “ON” position. If you do, this might be your problem. Also make sure that you’re only trying to lower the roof with the e-brake handle up (verify that the “brake” light comes on in the dash, and of course make sure the car is not moving.

To reset the top & window controller, turn the car on (start the engine) and roll the driver side window all the way down until it stops. Let go of the switch and then hold the switch down again (for about 10 seconds) until you here the click of a relay. After you do this, the window should stop working. Turn the engine off and then the ignition back on and the driver side window should work, and hopefully your top will now be fixed too.
