This news is actually a few months old, but I just came across it and thought I’d post. Apparently at some point Vin Diesel drives this RHD AP1 in the newest installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise and during filming accidentally wrecked the front end. Owner Ben Schaffer talks about the accident on The Real JDM.

It was a cool scene in the film, but I guess Vin got a little more into character than we all expected. A damaged fender, hood, bumper and headlight wasn’t supposed to be part of the deal!

I’m a huge fan of the CSI franchise of TV shows, and of course the Honda s2000, so when they cross paths of course I get giddy. In the Season 5 (2006) CSI Miami episode: Curse of the Coffin, the opening scene has a frantic woman trying to get into any car she can. First car she tries? AP2 Honda s2000 in Suzuka blue. Fantastic. Check out the other movies with the Honda s2000.

Harold and Kumar: Escape From Guantanamo was really a terrible movie, and i really wished that when they left the no-pants party that they jumped in that Laguna Seca AP2 instead of that ugly yellow mustang, but at least the S got a second or two of screen time.

Everytime I see an s2000 in a movie or tv show, I instantly notice it. Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Silverstone s2000 in the 2001 film Heartbreakers was the first time I saw one on the big screen and it was prominently featured in the movie. The five films that come to mind are Heartbreakers, The Fast and the Furious 1-3, and last Summer’s Live Free or Die Hard.

In searching for other films that have had s2000’s, i ran across the Internet Movie Car Database which lists all the movies and shows any given car has been in.

Also look for a Laguna Seca s2000 in this Summer’s Harold and Kumar escape from Guantanamo Bay!
